  • Novel approaches to the design of recognition materials, surface chemistry, derivatisation and patterning (e.g. synthesis and self-assembly of polymer-DNA hybrids, nanoparticles-polymer nanocomposites, DNA origamis and triplex structures)
  • Electrochemical microarray fabrication and integration with microfluidic devices, rapid prototyping of polymeric microfluidic chip by laser ablation and lithographic techniques
  • Design and study of microfluidics systems for sensors - Complex sample handling and processing, rapid multiplexed diagnostics for point-of-care application
  • Chemical and biochemical sensors, miniaturisation, nanobiotechnology
  • Experienced in optics and image processing (ATR fluorescence, chemiluminescence, SPR), electrochemistry (pulse techniques, FET based potentiometry, impedance spectroscopy) and surface characterisation techniques (AFM, SEM, optical microscopy, contact angle, Raman microscopy)

  • Computer literate in a broad range of software (MS Office, metrology, imaging, LabView, VBA, AutoCAD, CleWin, PCB design).
  • Presentation skills gained in professional and academic environments (conference presentations, co-supervision of students and interaction with governmental institutions), EU project consortium formation  and National and EU project preparation/writing.
